Reunion Information
Your KMHS board has decided to change our original plans. The official KMHS reunion, where you’ll meet most of us and where our annual board meeting will take place, will be at Chicago this year, NOT Cincinnati as previously thought. It will be over Labor Day weekend, from Sept 3-7. I’m attaching all the relevant info. You need to make reservations with the HOTEL and also with the Armed Forces Reunions. These are two separate reservations you must make. See the attached.
Now. Regarding your choices on the Armed Forces Reunions packet, on a strictly personal note, Mom and I don’t care for the banquets, although we love the breakfasts with everyone. We’re thinking of NOT buying the $276 meal package. We’d need someone to help us organize the dinners for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. (Cassie Collar will remember how difficult that was in Savannah!) But it would allow our group time together aside from the hospitality room. [2nd AD does have round tables designated for group sitting. We want something more.]
If any of you want to opt out of the big dinners and join us, maybe some of our Chi-town members and friends can recommend restaurants. Understand, if you go on the day trips, it’s going out again in the evening, but we can make it a little later so we get some rest in between. The thing with the meal package is that you’re stuck in the hotel for each night, because you’ve paid all this money for their meals. Another benefit of not going with their meal plan as a group, is that those of us who opt out will end up having breakfast in the hotel restaurant together anyway! J We may wish to go in smaller groups or with a few friends somewhere by yourselves in Chicago for one night. Or even to a show (order tickets now). This option gives you a lot more freedom. Some of us will even have cars! (What a concept!)
PLEASE make sure that you let me know that
Would/would not like to go with Mom and myself to dinner. We’ll talk about this in detail later, but if you want to go to a show, do order your tickets now. Usually, though, the hospitality room after dinner is really fun.
